Since 1937

Since 1937, Berger Hardware has been a staple in the Town of Mount Pleasant and the surrounding area – and now extends to Port Chester with a second location. As a small business owned and operated by family, we are committed to serving our community by providing neighborly customer service that makes our patrons feel at home, along with a wide selection of high-quality products at affordable prices.

These nostalgic values, combined with our dedication to keep up with current merchandise and project advice, make Berger Hardware both a time capsule and a necessity for the modern home. In fact, we’ve recently joined Ace Hardware Corporation – a hardware retail cooperative – in order to offer even better merchandise and pricing.

“But what about hardware, the stuff you really need to hold your home together, be it a dish rack, a wrench or a doorknob? For that there’s Berger Hardware Company, in Hawthorne.”

Community Connection

In addition to our friendly customer service, we strive to connect with
our community through outreach events and sponsorship. Stop by our booth at the Mount Pleasant Day festival in the summer. Bring your kids to our annual visit from Santa, when we partner with OXO, one of our vendors, to host a bake sale supporting Cookies for Kids’ Cancer. Treat yourself to some Girl Scout Cookies that one of the local troops sells on our front deck. We’re all about getting involved!

So whether you’re a contractor in need of building supplies, a homeowner preparing to tackle household tasks, a trendsetter hoping to browse seasonal decor and novelty items, or a local resident looking to support your community, come visit us!
